1) Overall, the students agreed that factors such as ‘teacher’ affect positively student motivation toward learning English.Also, students also found it almost agreeable that factors such as ‘class course’ affect positively student motivation toward learning English
2) The students whose grades in English were ‘above average’ were motivated toward learning the English Language significantly more than those whose grades in English were ‘up to average.’ Attitudes toward English learning was significantly more for students whose grades in English were ‘above average’ than the students whose grades were ‘up to average.’ Factors such as “teachers” or “class room” affecting motivation were more for students whose grades in English were ‘above average’ than those whose grades in English were ‘up to average’

What methodology are used?
A. Population and samples

B. Research instruments
 - This research employed a self-compiled questionnaire and
 contained two parts: the first part contained open-ended
 questions which were about personal information including
 gender, age, years of study, and majors.  The second part was
 close-ended questions and contained 37 questions. 

C. Data analysis
 - The statistical analysis was conducted utilising the
 Statistical Package of Social Science (SPSS) 


Who are the participants/ samples of the study?
The samples of this study consisted of 154 engineering students, 77 were freshmen, 75 were sophomore, and 2 who did not indicate their year of study.
