Some challenges that street hawkers faced were related to public health, urban planning, and government regulations. Many hawkers lacked proper equipment, water supply, and waste disposal systems, leading to concerns about food and water contamination. The government improved this through a multi-prolonged approach involving regulations, infrastructure renovations, and public education campaigns. Resilience and responsibility helped turn hawker culture into a national treasure. It is important for the younger generation to keep the hawker culture alive, as the hawker culture is a tradition that is unique to us and something that we should continue.

A problem that the people faced was Singapore's growing population. There were too many people and not enough buses, causing an imbalance. Buses were hot, uncomfortable, and crammed, resulting in a terrible transport experience for anyone in these buses. The streets are very jammed as there are many cars along the roads. Public transport is also not very accessible as the wide MRT platform gaps, pull-to-open doors and unexpected footpath detours do not make it easy for wheelchair users to move around.
