He had to look elsewhere to learn how to talk, write, use tools, and create and sustain a fire. The De Lacey family basically served as the monster's parental figures, even if unwittingly. The point where the monster introduced himself to the family led to disaster, and made the family abandon their home and the monster as well. Victor went as far as robbing graves to continue his work. At one point Victor, after discovering the "secret of life," hinted at possibly being able to reanimate the dead. This in every way would go against the morals of most humans and would go against the very order of nature.

In the story of Frankenstein  it steps on the side of evil. Victor goes too far and actually makes a new species of being. Victor creates a "monster" and then abandons it to the world. He himself is disgusted and afraid of his creation, and he released it upon society to do as it will. Victor made a being engineered to have limbs stronger and more supple than those of a human. Walton shared his need of a friend with his sister. Frankenstein displayed his longing for his friends when he was off at university.

“When i have success there will be none to celebrate my joy” pg.18
Throughout  the monsters tale he discusses his longing of friends and family, which he had none of. Each and every character in the story at one point or another wants companionship but it seems that the monster is always alone.

“You cannot contest the inestimable benefit which I shall confer on all mankind, to the last generation, by discovering a  passage near the pole to those countries” Pg. 16
“Success shall crown my endeavors” Pg. 22 
 While technology can be helpful, it also can be very danger if  the boundaries are crossed. He advanced technology and created a monster. By the time he did this, he was very isolated. Additionally, due to the lack of nurturing, the monster was extremely dangerous. Victor only had good intentions in mind, but sometimes advancing technology too much can be harmful, especially without planning for events after success.
