Hugo Boss:
The advert for Hugo boss is very simple yet effective, they used simple dark colours, which stereotypically is what men like meaning it will get there attention. The advert is aimed at a target audience of older men, this is shown through the model used on the advert. The logo "Hugo boss" is located at the top right hand corner of the advert, using bold but small font, this means it still stands out to the consumers eyes.

Lancome:
The advert for lance has more to it, they have used a certain colour scheme, which is purple, which again is stereotypically a woman's favourite colour. They have used a famous actress "Emma Watson" from films such as Harry Potter in there advert, this would appeal to those who are a fan of her work, meaning the producers would get a better outcome for there product. The font used is also very feminine, trying to appeal to the woman however they can the merchandiser will use as many stereotypically feminine things to get they target audiences attention

Both merchandisers are aiming to keep there adverts simple and effective by using certain colours and certain fonts to catch there audiences attention. Another thing both adverts have in common is both feature a stereotypically attractive man/woman as there models, this will attract a target audience of people around a similar age and to a similar style. Both models are framed in the same way, both dramatically looking away/ at the camera.

Comparing print advertisements

The colours used within both adverts are very simple. In the sure advert, a lot of pale colours have been added, this makes the ad easy to look at and to understand, pink has been used as well, this connotates that the advert is aimed at woman as pink is stereotypically a woman's favourite colour. The same can be said for the lynx advert, the main colour is black and blue, this makes the writing on the advert easy to see. The merchandiser for this advert has followed the path of the sure advert and have tried to use a stereotypically manly colour, trying to gain the attention of men.

The sure advert hasn't got many interpretations, the bird in the ad could possibly represent freedom and woman's rights, this will gain a good outlook from the audience as it is looking at woman in a better light then the media (stereotypically). The flowers that have been drawn on to the advert also match the bird, this makes the audience think of the outside which also matches the use of deodorant. The lynx advert has a different interpretation, the only image that can be seen is a picture of a crown, this will most likely attract teenage boys who think that the deodorant will make them royal. The image of the crown also matches the writing, the use of the words "sorry Harry" makes people think of the royal family and that maybe himself uses this brand, making it all the more popular.

The meaning behind both adverts is to gain there audiences attention in the simplest yet most effective way possible, this means not using much colour, lack of writing and a use of imagination. The meaning behind the sure advert is to get woman to look at the advert and get attracted to there use of images and interpretations. The same is with the lynx advert, the merchandiser has tried to use a lot of stereotypes to gain an audience attention.
