Çankırı is a city located in the Central Anatolia Region of Turkey. The neighboring provinces of Çankırı are Ankara, Kastamonu, Çorum, Kırıkkale, Bolu and Karabük. Çankırı Salt Mine is one of the oldest and largest salt mines in the world known to have produced salt for about 5 thousand years. Visitors in the Çankırı Salt Cave, which is open to visitors, can visit exhibitions with sculptures made of salt, paintings and various objects in the galleries. There are many examples of civil architecture in Çankırı. Our province of Çankırı, which has hosted many civilizations throughout history, has a rich heritage in terms of history, culture and art. Old Çankırı houses also incorporate all the characteristics of the Turkish House with very little differences. Ilgaz Mountains in Çankırı, covered with snow in six months of the year, also have winter sports opportunities.
