With my choreography being very Poised and fun with styles like waacking and vogue ballroom I wanted a song that reflected this form.

I came up with this name and felt like it fit perfectly.

I used ‘how about now’ as my piece is about confidence and I wanted to portray the storyline that I wasn’t confident before but now I am confident, and how I approach life differently with this new found confidence.

The show spotlights the legends, icons and ferocious house mothers of New York’s underground ball culture, a movement that first gained notice in the 1980s.

The show illustrates that these underground balls have stylish dance scenes that include vogueing and are full of character so my inspiration has come from this as well as watching how the characters build their confidence over time.

I like use to different types of lenses flipping the camera upside down moving the camera side to side to get different angles.

For the beginning I want the lens to act as a point of view where the lens acts as my eyes, using my fingers over the lens to act as if I’m opening my eyes etc.

There are also apps that can make the video look as if it was filmed on a VHS camera, which I would like to use as I want my video to portray a fun dancer vibe.

and dance has a really incredible ability to help inspire confidence. It’s not just an art form it’s a language that speaks to the soul it teaches us to express ourselves, to embrace our individuality. We learn to move with grace and strength,it gives confidence which is the key that unlocks doors, it’s the fire that ignites the stage, Every step is a reflection of the countless hours spent perfecting our craft it empowers us to stand tall to project our energy to captivate the audience with every movement. So I learnt to harness that spirit in dance to fuel my aspirations to build my confidence, to inspire others. To leave an indelible mark on the stage.

Although to find confidence you to go looking of it, it’s a realisation that you had it somehwere deep down all along.

It took me a long time to actually get into filming with

Procrastination and lock of motivation being my worst enemy. It took me a while to even come up with a plan of how I wante things to go as I feel like my topic was quite broad so finding one subtopic to focus on was hard.

I came up with the idea of how what you wear influences when you dance, when I was in class.

I was in commercial class and around me a lot of the other girls had cut out tops with funky designs and it made them look edgy and confident, and I just had a a basic top and it made me feel plain and I felt like if I felt better in my outfit I would’ve danced better in the class. This was the base of my idea for video concept but after a week it still took me a while to finally add some sort of structure to my video plan so I could start filming.

Once filming started you really enjoyed it and was the thankful for the research that was done as it helped with when putting my video together. I filmed it back to front as I knew how I wanted my video to end but wasn’t quite sure of how I wanted the beginning.

With the deadline inching closer it forced me to get in the studio and start brainstorming ideas which actually helped as it turned into footage that I used in my creative video.

Working back to front is not something that I recommend though as I was left with a lot of gaps in my overall plan and had to work overtime to fill the gaps

I used the Victoria secret fashion show as my influence for the catwalk and model section of my piece as they have some of the most influential and memorable models in the shows and the confidence shown represents, Celeste and her way of life.

I wanted to edit my videos like in the Beyoncé video with the grid format that she’s used. It adds character and creates the fun and enjoyment which is imbedded in Celeste’s naturally wacky character.
