I think raced played a big factor in the jury's decision to convict Walter. Today I don't think race place a part in the Criminal Justice system today because people and jury's are now changed.

Race did seem to be involved due to his racial sexual feuds with a white woman. This played a big role in the outcome of Walter's trial. In present, race doesn't seem to play parts of the Criminal Justice System. Some countries may be different but as the whole US,  it is not a issue.

Walter McMillan was not given a fair trial. Race definitely played a part in it with the all-white jury trial against him. Also, his lawyers were absolutely no help and weren't even fighting for Walter given basically no evidence, or fight when Ralph Myers made up his stories. 
2. Race still plays a part in our justice system today in America. I think it's about over 60% all over America race changes the minds of the justice system which is a super racial stereotype and gives no fair trial to the people who could have not committed the crime.
