The role of the teacher is to get to know the student's in the best possible way: learn about learners' interests, learning profile and readiness levels. This is pretty much in line with what I have read. However, there is something to add: the metacognitive help. Teachers must assist students with their own knowledge of how they learn most effectively and give them room for creativity when it comes to assessment. The key terms are: topics, teacher-mediation, and techniques.


Special educational needs:
We need to know students' profiles. How they learn the best. Not stereotype, but to know their characteristics and prepare better materials and instruction.

Yes, they are at some point. A gradual approach to its implementation.
There is little collective general knowledge about the issue.

Paola: To separate students leads to generating social issues and low self-esteem.
Denise: The teacher's role; an important issue that needs more attention and preparation.
Carla: Assumptions about SEN. We are still in the medical view of SEN students. 
We believe that they can just learn in an special environment.

Flipped: to use online learning as a preparation tool for a traditional lesson. (teachers sending a video or brief presentation to have a little bit of knowledge to be more participative)

The concept of classroom in no longer linked to a concrete scene or setting.
Javiera: Online setting changes the role of the teacher. Facilitator of knowledge, so teachers must introduce new technologies. What is the difference? Learners autonomy is unreliable. Combining teaching and learning autonomy is effective.
Abby: Time management and privacy of a teacher in online education.

Time mgt: E.g. to create new materials two hours were spent (for face-to-face teaching), while the same task took 8 hours in online teaching.
