         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Shuman Declaration</strong></p><p>The declaration proposed the creation of a European Coal and Steel Community whose members would pool the production of these products.</p><p>The CECA was formed by six countries, France, West Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, and was one of the first of a series of supranational institutions that would become what is today the European Union.</p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The Maastricht Treaty, signed in 1992, made the European Union (EU) with important groups like the Council and Parliament. It divided the EU's work into three parts: money and trade, dealing with other countries, and handling problems within the EU.</p><p><br></p><p>Later, the Amsterdam Treaty in 1997 made the EU stronger. It gave more power to the Parliament and allowed some countries to work together more closely. It was all about making the EU better and fairer for everyone.</p>]]></description>

It gave more power to the European Parliament and allowed more decisions to be made by a majority vote.</p><p><br></p><p>The Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, signed in 2000, outlines basic rights for EU citizens.          <description><![CDATA[<p>The euro is a strong symbol of Europe coming together, used by millions every day. Countries wanting to join must meet certain rules, called 'convergence criteria'. Once they're ready, they can adopt the euro. There's no rush, each country decides when. The European Commission and Central Bank check if a country meets the rules, and if so, they can start using the euro.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Brexit, which means "Britain's exit," is when the United Kingdom decided to leave the European Union (EU). This decision came after a vote in 2016, and it officially happened on February 1, 2020. The Withdrawal Agreement set out the rules for the UK's departure, making sure it happened in an organized the 31 of january, 2020.</p><p><br></p><p>During this time, EU laws still applied in the UK, even though the UK wasn't part of EU institutions anymore. From January 1, 2021, a new agreement called the "Trade and Cooperation Agreement" started. This deal covers different things like trade, cooperation on social and environmental issues, and working together on security matters like fighting crime and terrorism.</p><p><br></p><p>The Trade and Cooperation Agreement is overseen by a special council made up of people from both the EU and the UK. They check that everything in the agreement is working well. Overall, Brexit is a big change in how the UK and the EU work together, and the Trade and Cooperation Agreement sets the rules for their new relationship.</p>]]></description>
