         <description><![CDATA[<div>Informal workers have no secure contracts or protection. Therefore they are susceptible to unemployment, wage loss or decrease. This meant that during covid they had to decide whether they wanted to ‘die from hunger or from the virus’.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>Informal workers make up 90% of employment. In Australia this meant that 870,000 people lost their jobs.&nbsp; In Nigeria, 20% of the population lost their jobs due to Covid.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>
