The unit is divided into two sections, the objectives of which are to acquire knowledge of conflict resolution strategies in a second language, English. For this purpose, the specific language of a second language will be used.

To do so, we will base ourselves on Coyle's 4 C's: Content, Cognition, Culture and Communication.

It should be noted that for the development of cognition we will use Bloom's taxonomy as a reference through the different activities that will be developed.

We will start the session with a brainstorming session around the question What do you know about conflict resolution? Do you know the different styles of communication? Do you know what a conflict is?

We will allow time for students to contribute their ideas.

Once the brainstorming is finished, we will project a video showing the different styles of communication in conflict resolution: Passive, aggressive, passive aggressive and assertive.

After watching the video, students will be given a handout with the most important key concepts. Among them are questions on conflict resolution, ways of expressing opinions, ways of starting a sentence and the most relevant concepts of the topic of study.

Once the document has been handed out, it is time to reflect on and comment on the scenes and examples shown in the video.

A mini-assignment is proposed in which students reflect on conflictive situations that they have experienced first-hand.

They should write it up (in summary form) and explain what strategy they used to resolve the conflict.

We will begin the session by reviewing what we have worked on in the previous session.

We will ask questions such as: Do you remember what we did in the previous session? What aspects were we working on? Do you remember some of the concepts we worked on? What are the main styles of communication?

Once we have reviewed what we have seen in the previous class, we will remember the homework we had asked for about personal experiences of conflict. Students will be asked to voluntarily present their situations and the way they solve them will be evaluated.

In this way, students will put into practice the fact of assessing whether a conflict situation has been dealt with in an assertive, passive or aggressive way.

After this activity, we will do a role-playing activity in pairs.

Students will have to practise with their partner the assigned situation and perform it in front of the class, once performed, the class will have to say the communication style exposed in the conflict.

At the end of the class, students will be encouraged to reflect, asking questions such as: What is the most effective strategy for resolving a conflict? How can we apply it in real life?

Exit Ticket: One thing I will do differently in my next social interaction is...

At the end of the unit, students will do a self-assessment on what they have learnt throughout the unit and how they can put it into practice in their daily lives.
