One example of that is the Chrysler Museum of Art showcasing an exhibit titled "Americans in Spain: Painting and Travel, 1820–1920". Where as the name suggests, focused on art done by Americans visiting Spain throughout that century, and how the land and culture shaped some of their art.

Another exhibit done in the past is one called "Spain: 500 Years of Spanish Painting from the Museums of Madrid" at the San Antonio Museum of Art. Where the primary focus is obviously on 500 years worth of art by Spanish artists. Through this exhibit people were able to see how Spanish artists changed and evolved their craft over the course of 500 years. Along with a lot of in-depth analysis on the artists  with history known to us.

Some sources I can use for my virtual field trip involve ones that go into the history of Juan Gris and his relation to mentor, Pablo Picasso. Along with his troubled history about his home country and how that inspired a lot of the artwork he created.
