The wood layer represents the hand-made, DIY, workshop, model making passion of mine with the white text over the top inspired by my favourite artist Tom Sachs who also champions ‘hand-made’. The map of words is overlaid on a map of Brisbane. This is because I grew up here and the more I have travelled the more I see that Brisbane will always be home and how much it has influenced both who I am as a person and as a designer. With each layer, it is intended that potential recruiters will understand who I am. At first you see me and what I look like. Then you see my self map and word cloud, intentionally left hard to read in order to allow the reader to discover a new word or phrase each time and also allow them to learn something new about me. Then the Brisbane train map represents where I come from and the wood represents the raw, hand made side of myself as mentioned above.

As a person I am very introverted and shy so I decided to represent this by having myself in greyscale. In contrast to this, my design identity is quite loud, bold and bright. The patterns and colours represent an energised and exciting tone that I bring to my designs and that me as a designer let my designs do the talking. I decided to keep my hat on in the photo as it was a consistent theme throughout the background research that I always seem to have it on me and always brought excitement to my day (picking out my hat for the day). This image takes inspiration from the work created and style of Bernardo Henning; however, the shapes and patterns used in this photo collage draw more inspiration from 1980’s neon-noir.
