The Gupta Empire took place from 320 C.E. to 540 C.E. The leaders of the empire were mainly villages elected by the people. Those leaders didn't give physical punishments to criminals and only the people who farmed on rich farms had to pay taxes. Leaders encouraged education because they were advanced in literature and math. The empire didn't have strong rulers and faced pressure from the Civil war which led to the fall of the empire.

The Han Dynasty took place from 206 B.C.E. to 220 C.E. Emperor Wudi strengthened the government by making Confucian men in charge, encouraged education by creating a university, and gave the government an income other than taxes on poor people, which created a monopoly. He also believed in expansion, often fighting to push China's borders back. The Silk Road linked China to the West, which brought new foods, religions, animals, fabrics and even diseases. Government officials were appointed by taking an exam, which only the people who could afford to take classes usually passed. The empire collapsed because taxes became too much to keep up and debt became an issue, canals and roads fell apart, emperors couldn't control the military leaders, and China broke into different kingdoms.

The Mali Empire took place during the 13th through the 16th centuries. Mansa Musa, the most famous and rich leader of his time, led the Mali Empire to greatness using his wealth. The location of the empire contributed greatly to his wealth because the Niger River produced more gold in the 14th century than anywhere else. By the end of Mansa Musa's reign, the Mali Empire changed since he had expanded the empire to about nine modern day countries, or 440,000 square miles. He gave money to the poor and sick in Cairo, Egypt on his 4,000 mile Hajj to the holy city of Mecca. He built mosques during his Hajj and spread the Islamic faith in that way.

The Aztec Empire took place between 1325 C.E.- 1521 C.E. The start of the empire was when the sacrifice of rival groups' daughters led to the hunt of the Aztecs, who fled to an island on Lake Texcoco. It is the largest of five interconnected lakes in the region, surrounded by valleys. The island leader, Tenoch, saw an eagle perched on a cactus, which symbolized a sign from the Gods saying that the Aztecs found their new home. They named their city Tenochtitlan which was a city leftover from a previous empire. This city was the birthplace of the sun and it was considered the city of the gods from the previous empire, and the Aztecs took inspo from this. They made buildings with wooden pilings, used boats for traveling, moved things with rope, and transported fresh water by canoes before building aqueducts. They had many stable resources for the expansion of the empire but in the end the Spaniards captured their leader, Moctezuma ll, was captured and the population couldn't figure out whether he was telling the truth or being help captive, so the empire ended.

The Islamic Empire originated from the Muslim religion. The five pillars of the Islamic Empire were the following: 1. Shahadah-make a declaration of faith 2. Salat-pray 5 times daily 3. Zakat-give charity to the poor 4. Sawm-fast from sunrise to sunset during the holy month of Ramadan 5. Hajj- pilgramige to Mecca if the person is able. Muslims followed a holt book called the Quran. It taught the people to devote lots of time into religion. Muhammad created a strong faith which made the people behave better. There was a social hierarchy and people could improve their rank through religious, scholarly, or military achievements. Many things were traded to the Islamic Empire including the Hindu-Arabic Numerals which were spread throughout Europe, materials like salt, cloth, and books, and the beliefs of Islam. Their architecture represented the clash of the Byzantine and Muslim cultures.
