As they are "self-directed" individuals, autonomy goes a long way in terms of motivation. 
Mastery, or the "desire to improve," is a motivating factor, as adult learners have an intrinsic motivation to learn. One of the 5J's is "job-related," and adults are motivated when they can find purpose in their work. As a technology leader, I have to demonstrate how technology integration will make teachers' lives easier by fully engaging their students

This free unconference takes place in Southeast D.C, which is only 30 minutes from me, so I could potentially attend.

Due to a lack of relative advantage and lack of applicable information, I rarely take away much from professional development. However, I’ve yet to attend a professional development that was educational-technology-centric, so perhaps that could help motivate me. I don’t believe that the current technology leaders of PGCPS are doing a great job of motivating teachers to learn and use technology. There is a need for professional development on educational technology, as well as added awareness regarding current available technologies.
