We also discovered that other schools in our own district were striving for the same thing. It has led us to network better in our own backdoor of WI and create connections that has allowed our school to get more dirt under our nails and sun on our faces. We hope to be an example for the rest of the schools in our district that have not yet taken this path. It actually inspired my first attempt at doing a pilot study with my university students about improving children's preference and love for eating traditional vegetables. With the inspiration from Kidsgardening.org and lesson plans and teaching resources, we organised the first nutri-garden programme for children in 2016. Through vegetable gardening which the children participated in directly and harvesting and cooking their own vegetables, it was a huge success. the program helped to reduce the children's aversion for traditional green leafy vegetables. from a simple school reserach project, it has grown to become an annual programme called Kids Nutri-garden Vacation School (KNGVS).
