My person is Carol Tomé. She is the CEO of the United Parcel Service which is a part of national wide transportation. She was chosen because she was the first female chief executive for this business. In her first 100 days of being CEO she focused directly on the spread of covid vaccines. Before she joined UPS she worked as the executive Vice President and chief financial officer of Home Depot. She is also the 12th CEO in the 114 year history of the company. Carol had been retired on her own farm in Northwest Georgia. Even thought she was retired she was still on board with many other companies including UPS. The company needed someone like Carol and her skills. She took time and she realized that she was a good fit for UPS. She decided that because everything fit well in her mind, she decided to go back into working which led her to become the CEO of UPS.
