         <description><![CDATA[<div>Threat of Entry - Moderate <br><br>Consumers are becoming more selective with the type of products they consume, incentivises businesses to enter the market.<br><br>Threat of substitutes - High<br>Non organic products are easy substitutes when price rather than Quailty is the primary factor.<br><br>A variety of organic brands also exist, giving consumers more choice and hence increasing the threat of substitutes. This is amplified by the fact that organic products more or less have the same effects regardless of brand.<br><br>Competitive Rivalry - High<br>Firms in this industry constantly compete over both price and none price factors. Specifically, firms here aim to develop USPs in order to gain a competitive advantage over one another. In terms of Lush, one example is their decision to hand craft all their products rather than going through with automation to display attention to detail and concern for the environment.</div>]]></description>

Additionally, monopolisation is not common in this industry meaning competition policies are already adhered to.<br><br>Economic<br>As inflation in UK increases Lush's product's (and that of competitors) will also rise, making the use of cheaper alternatives more attractive to consumers.<br><br>Social<br>Society as a whole (specifically Millennials) is becoming more 'green' and hence moving away from businesses that do not recycle or use green production methods.<br><br>Technological<br>Mass production through automation is applicable to this industry. Specifically to the business that produce standardise, low - cost and non-organic products.<br><br>Legal<br>Laws and regulation surrounding the production and testing of cosmetic products are relevant here. Lush claims to not test on animals or purchase raw materials from suppliers who harm animals in any way. <br><br>Environmental/Ethical<br>The anti-animal cruelty displayed by lush by not testing products on them, as well as using all vegan bases for their products can be seen as a USP in the favour of Lush, as well as other businesses that follow similar models.</div>]]></description>
