They are then divided into a Tehsil or a Taluka. The 'Tehsildar' is the district collector who is the revenue officer of that particular Tehsil. 'Tehsildars are an important part of the rural administration of India villages.' Yes, and their duties are as follows- 

1. The Tehsildar is in charge of the Tehsil Revenue Agency. He/ she is also responsible for the proper preparation and maintenance of the Tehsil Revenue Record and Revenue Accounts. 
2. He is in charge of recovering the government dues which come under the various acts. 
3. He is required to have control over the working of the Patwaris. The Municipal Corporation looks after governing the bigger 'wards' of a city. Whereas, the Municipality governs the rural and small towns/ areas of a city. Yes. Here are a few reasons on the important functions of both; the Municipal Corporation and Municipality.  
 
1. Controls and supplies water. 
- The urban local bodies are in charge of supplying water to everyone part of their ward. 
2. Insures the cleanliness and quality of the water. 
- The cleanliness of the water is insured by daily tank cleans. 
3. Cleanliness of the public areas. Examples- roads, parks etc. 
- The urban local bodi es are in charge of cleaning the public areas for all citizens part of their ward. 
4. Collection of garbage. 
- The garbage is collected everyday by the urban local bodies and responsibly disposed away from the residential area. 
5. Government hospitals and schools. 
- The Municipal Corporation and Municipality are in charge of building and constructing hospitals and schools. Hospitals for the well being of the citizens and schools for the children to learn at. 
6. Cleaning of the sewage systems. 
- The cleaning of the sewage systems is done daily to insure a hygienic environment for the citizens. 
7. Repair of roads. 
- The first lay of the road is done by the central government or state government. The urban local bodies and in charge of the keeping the road in good shape.
