Transport in Leeds

Leeds has a good network of public transport around the city. Most places can be reached by bus or train.

If you have a smartphone you will be able to download apps that allow you to check when buses are coming and map out where you want to go. Some of the best apps are:

FirstBus App

Moovit

UK Bus Checker

CityMapper

Uber

To travel further a train may be required and most locations can be accessed via train from the Leeds Railway station. Tickets can be bought online using your bank card or at the Railway station in cash. It is always cheaper to buy tickets in advance.

Taxis can be expensive depending on where you are going. Locally it may be cheaper to take a taxi if more than 3 of you are travelling together. Uber is also a good taxi company to use.

There is a bus concourse with 26 stands there is also a help desk office that you can buy tickets from or ask about certain routes.

When you arrive in the UK you will not automatically have access to the health service unless it’s an emergency. Sometimes the best option is to visit your pharmacist rather than GP. This is if you just need some over the counter medicines or you want to discuss something before going to your GP. A pharmacist would be happy to talk to you and give you advice to whether you need to see your GP or not. The great thing about pharmacies is that they are located down almost every high street and in larger supermarket stores.

Please use emergency department if you need to be seen urgently or contact us and we can advise.
