Donald Glover Jr. is an actor, comedian, musician, producer, director, and writer. Glover was born in Edwards air force base, California where he grew up with his siblings and parents, Beverly Glover and Donald Glover Sr. His father Danny glover was a well known actor, director and activist. His father occupations leads to Gambino's own occupation and inspirations to some of his songs. Childish Gambino acting as the speaker attempts to tell people who feel alone to let your "significant other" know your emotions and how you feel about them. They use the appeals of pathos and logos in the lyrics and music video to get the message across. The most prominent topic he sings and raps are about trust, real friends, and a significant other. The album "Because the internet" where the song 3005 was released was in 2013. when the album was released it came out with a short film to go with it called "Clapping for the wrong reasons" where his life and loneliness are displayed. Gambino did not have a serious relationship until 2016 till today with his partner Michelle White.
Occasion: The occasion of 3005 take place in his home, and just his daily life that consist of living with his friends and partying. In his music video none of that is shown. Instead he is shown in a carnival riding a ferris wheel the whole time next to a teddy bear.
Audience: The audience this piece is directed to is people who feel alone but still have a significant other. In his song he talks about how feels alone but still has a girl he wants to be with no matter what. The audience would also be the girl he is talking about which in this case was just in general because he was not in a serious relationship.
Purpose: The purpose this piece was written to let the girl know how he feels and telling her his emotions about his life and friends. He lets her know that whatever happens he will still stand by her. he also lets the audience know about his loneliness and feelings in general.
Speaker: The speaker and voice who tell the story of 3005 is himself. Gambino is talks about his own life experience he has been through. some experiences involve living with his friends and partying.

This relates to pathos because it talks about his friends and  emotions. Gambino is saying that his home is filled with all of his "friends" but it does not feel that way to him. Gambino feels alone even with all of his close friends near him. The feeling of being alone makes the audience as well as Gambino sad.
Example #2: In the chorus and the first lines in the song are "No matter what you say or what you do when i'm alone i'd rather be with you." These lines correspond with pathos because it shows the feelings he has towards the girl he talks about through out the song. These lyrics show how he feels in any situation he is in with the girl, he still wants to be with her in any circumstance.
Example #3: In his second verse, line 13- 14 say " 'cause when them checks clear, they're not here, cause they don't care." This is another situation that make Gambino sad because his own friends use him for money and admit it.  These lines describe how his friends use him for money or other things and, if Gambino  does not have any his friends leave him. These lyrics are logical because humans are not born perfect. Everyone has flaws and imperfections that make them unique and different. Many people also feel insecure from their flaws that do not make them perfect.
Example #2: In the first verse line 6 say "got no patience 'cause i'm not a doctor."
Gambino uses a play of words with "patience" and "patient" and stating he is not a doctor. This is logical because even though Gambino is very talented from being a comedian to being a director, he is no doctor and does not have patients.
Example #3: In the first verse lines 18-19 say "sorry, i'm just scared of he future 'til 3005, i got your back, we can do this, hold up."  These lyrics relate to logos because no one knows what the future will be like and it is normal to be afraid of it. This method was effective because he uses pathos to make people feel the same emotion that he feels. The way he used logos showed his logical take on his feelings without making it emotional. Gambino lets his friends, significant other and himself know how he truly feels about feeling alone and the love he has for his girl.
