Thought the high school career I have learned to never take anything for granted. This is something that I have learned mostly through football. Due to a positive test on our team, our season had to come to an end. I only ended up playing 3 games my junior season. My season was stripped from me. And not just was I hurt, by my senior brothers lost their chance at a senior night and a last home game. I have still yet to move on from the way the game has been stripped from me for these last years.

This photo and memory means a lot to me because my brother was starting to move on from high school, and it was just a reminder to me that football is family.

This is one of my most emotional memories of football. It was the last game of the season just after Halloween. My friends and I all had no desire to play against the undefeated Livermore. The league championship was on the line. We were all lazy in warm-ups, but when we got into the game we were a whole different beast. We all fought for the guy next to us that night. We ended up winning 20-19. I made the game-saving stop to win the game on the goal line. When the buzzer sounded and the game had come to an end, our team went crazy. I cried in the process. We all jumped around and hugged each other as nothing else mattered. When the team came up for a final meeting, I made a speech. I told everyone how much they meant to me, and how I would go to war with them every day of the week if I could.

Everyone claims that JV year is the worst. The coaches are the worst, the plays are the worst, the practices are the worst. I completely disagree. While it is true that JV year is a lot of running and work, it is also the best football team I have ever been on. It's not the best because of the record, but because of your teammates. All the adversity you face JV year with running and terrible coaching brings you and your brothers closer together.

This is a photo of me from Freshman year. If you couldn't tell I was much stockier than I am now. This was my 3rd year playing tackle football and it was this year that I truly found a love for the sport. Not just did I find a love for the sport but I also found friends and brothers for life in this sport.

Despite a sad ending to the season, we still got a football banquet. All my friends were there and it was great being with the whole team again. I am excited about the guy next year to come up and show me the skill that they have. I will work hard every day and take every chance I get to play football while I still can. Football isn't about the game, it's the friends and family you find through the game. The end of this is inevitable, and I want to be proud of what I did when I finish.

This is a photo from my very first Varsity football game. As a freshman, I made it my goal to start every game I played for every year. I have still kept that goal to date. I started both ways as a junior on varsity. I finally got to fall back in love with football after the pandemic hit. It made me realize how much I miss the game. Despite the good feelings, we ended up losing this game 21-7. It was a tough loss, to say the least.

This point marks my second Varsity game. This is also my first football game at home in over a year. We needed a bounce-back win against Granada in this game and we sure got it. We were beating them in the first half 49-0. We were able to get everyone on the team playing time and we demolished them. This is the game that reminded me how much I love football.

Campolindo was the hardest team we were to play all season. They had multiple division 1 commits and an excellent program. Our team was expected to get blown out by them. We started the game strong coming 14-0. Everyone on Amador had a fire lit under them, we all wanted to win. As the game progressed, they slowly started to come back. Until we ended up losing in a heartbreaker.
