J.K. Rowling used the word "strike" maybe cause it is foreshadowing to something that is going to happen later on in the book. "Cautiously" could be used by the author to show how the characters need to act. Lastly, "Silence" could be used to show how some characters demand other characters to be.

Rowling uses a lot of literary devices so you understand the book completely. I would recommend you read all the Harry Potter books before this one so you can enjoy the book fully. Make sure you remember all the characters because it makes a lot more sense when you know who is talking.
