Hope that the summer break has been going good for you and that you and your families are safe in this unfortunate time. I wanted to share a proud moment about my daughter

Her favourite singer’s birthday was a few days ago and she is a huge fan. Considering the current situation, she wanted to gift him something virtually. So she has created an entire website dedicated to him. It is the first ever website that is solely about him.

Not only has she added songs, information and other details about him, but also cross checked with her teacher Miss Kristy, to make sure that it is ethically researched and credited before publication.

It would be great if you could check it out, whenever you get the time and it is all thanks to this AMAZING school that she is even able to create this website all by herself. Being a part of this school, she has become much more hardworking and passionate about any task given to her and achieving her targets. As a proud parent I would obviously give credit to OIS for giving her the platform to do such wonderful things.

This week, being back to School has been very challenging, at least for our family. At the same time, it has proved that we made the right choice for our son of changing his school from Ecole Mondiale World School to OIS and that he is in the right place; where the School Head, Principal, teachers, administration and entire staff care not only about education but also about the kids emotional and psychological well-being. We would like to express our deep gratitude to all of you.

We wish to also give a very special thanks to Ms. Rachna who is an extraordinary teacher and person who really loves her job and the kids she teaches. Although it’s just been 2 days since the school has commenced, we find that she along with Ms. Prachi and Ms. Mansi have been doing a really good job in interacting with them and trying to understand each kid and their mood swings especially since they are woken up early for their online sessions.

Furthermore, we thank each one of you who have worked so hard to ensure that the kids have a challenging learning time without too much pressure. We think that the activities/tasks proposed by you are also balanced, challenging and entertaining. These unprecedented times have also led to lots of lovely things that we wouldn't always have time to do as a family. Thank you again for the fantastic job of creating such a fun filled and educational environment for our kids.

We also appreciate all your communications through this period and the time and patience you offer to each and every child's family unit explaining the current situation and putting their worries to rest. It’s also very reassuring to find that our queries regarding anything communicated by us by way of emails to the School are always addressed promptly. No words can do justice to the various roles you are managing so well. Truly and deeply appreciate yours and your staff's support through these unprecedented times and limited resources that you must be having access to presently.

Also the School’s approach to this pandemic situation, right from the communication, leadership, empathy and education of our children has really been amazing. It’s indeed been a challenging year for everyone and we know the extra pressures placed on the School, its management, teachers and the staff haven’t been easy. In fact, many of you are also parents themselves and equally worried for their own families and in the midst of all of this, you’re still finding ways to connect with your students and their families, even as you’re trying to take care of yourself and your own families.

Despite all of these challenges, the School has still managed to maintain its teaching standards which we have known to appreciate. Our kids are also learning empathy and compassion from you—a skill we’re all learning and practicing right now.

To conclude, we would once again wish to just say a big thank you to all of you and express our heartfelt gratitude, as we wish that you know how grateful we as parents and our children are for all your dedication and hard-work during these tough times!!!!

We still miss the quick catch ups that we used to have at the school though!

We were having a family breakfast chat and what the kids have been constantly talking about is the way you all at different parts of the world are connecting at your time zones and carrying on the task with the same enthusiasm as in school. Also the way the school IT team has made the whole online school possible much before other schools in Mumbai got to it.

As parents, we echo the same feelings as. Hats off to you and Team OIS-JVLR for making the experience so seamless. I do believe the children will definitely learn from this experience and carry on the legacy for the rest of their lives.

Please do pass our sincere compliments & gratitude to Chris, Ms. Barb, Mr. Borys, Mr.Joao, Ms. Farah and all others who are making this possible.

Look forward to meeting you all soon.

With this email, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to you for being the most wonderful teachers for my daughter.

When we started the process of Learning from Home, it appeared like such an uphill task. However, the tide has completely turned in over a months' time.

I still remember asking Ms. Aditi on the very first interaction about making my daughter stay at one place as she is a 'walking person' and she assured me that they will have fun engagements to help them stay at one place.

To be honest, I was wondering if it was going to be like this or was it just a rehearsed answer. Voila, cut to September 1, and she is actually sitting for her classes.

All of 3 years old but very possessive about her teachers and her classes. Does not let her elder sister sit on the same table if her classes are going on, assertively telling her, "No this is my class."

Time and again, you have been helping me in keeping her attention intact by telling me little secrets like how to keep her hands engaged by giving her playdough or some small toys or having a little teacher-student chat about how wearing her most favourite night dress for classes wasn't proper.

I feel so full of gratitude for you as you put on your heart, soul, and all the energy in these little kids, even though on some days they look at you like zombies. But your enthusiasm never wanes. Keeping the smile and energy intact always. And eventually that rubs off on them also.

Thank you being so good at your job and framing such a wonderful time schedule. Truly appreciate it.
