It is important to view from varying perspectives when observing a topic such as Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal, as all sides are emotionally loaded and designed to make the other perspective seem idiotic. An example of this is with a major Pakistani news source, Dawn. In this source, there is an article that takes the Pakistani government’s word and presents it as fact to the reader that the nuclear weapons that Pakistan is developing are, in fact, not weapons of war but instead peacekeeping devices(Nukes guarantor of peace). This is damaging as they are taking an inherently biased source and presenting it to the reader as a fact, which leads to the reader being unwilling to consider the indian perspective. Another example comes from the Associated Press, where in their article on evaluating both Indian and Pakistani military might, both conventional and nuclear, they leave out all ethical and moral details around the conflict and most of the history that led to the escalation up to that point. While that is good to be objective, it leaves the reader with just a one-dimensional “numbers on a page” view towards the conflict, which just amplifies preconceived notions and doesn't challenge them. One final example is in the indian times where in their article on Pakistani military plans and upgrades they fearmonger their audience into beliving that the pakistani government has no valid reason to do this besides simply wanting land that didnt belong to them and that they desire to have as much death and destruction as possible through using inflammatory wording like upgrading nukes (“'Upgrade nukes, big) which cause fears within the population leading to a unfair view of the actual situation. In conclusion, it is important to look at many different perspectives when trying to analyze a situation that is emotionally hard to comprehend, as news sources can use those feelings to amplify preconceived ideas and prevent a reader from looking at different perspectives.
