My goal is simple yet deeply meaningful:

to make my parents proud and give them the life they deserve. I want to achieve success, not just for myself, but to repay their sacrifices with comfort and happiness. Financial success is a key part of that-I aim to build wealth, not just for luxury, but for security, freedom, and the ability to give back to those who matter most. Every step I take is driven by this purpose, and I wont stop until I reach it.

Hadith Jibril

Usrah Session Summary: Hadis Jibril

What is Hadis Jibril?

Hadith Jibril, the second hadith in Imam Al-Nawawi’s Forty Hadith, is one of the most comprehensive and fundamental hadiths in Islam. This narration provides a detailed summary of the core aspects of the religion, covering the essentials of Islam (outward practices), Iman (faith), and Ihsan (spiritual excellence).

THE MORAL THAT WE CAN GAIN FROM THIS HADITH

1) Holistic View of Islam:

Hadith Jibril teaches that Islam is a holistic way of life, combining three dimensions:

 - Islam (practices):The physical acts of worship like prayer, fasting, and charity.

 - Iman (faith): The inner beliefs and doctrines such as belief in Allah, angels, and the hereafter.

 - Ihsan (excellence):The spiritual state of worshipping Allah as if one sees Him, which emphasizes sincerity and moral consciousness in all actions.

2) Importance of Actions and Faith:

The hadith shows the balance between external actions (Islam) and internal faith (Iman). It is not enough to just believe without practicing or to practice without sincere faith. Both are intertwined in the life of a Muslim.

3) Spiritual Excellence (Ihsan):

The concept of Ihsan encourages Muslims to strive for excellence in everything they do by being conscious of Allah’s constant presence. It emphasizes sincerity and perfecting one’s actions, whether in acts of worship or daily life.

4) The Reality of the Unseen:

Belief in things unseen—like the Day of Judgment, angels, and destiny—reminds believers that life is not limited to the physical world. This encourages humility, patience, and responsibility in one’s actions.

5) Awareness of the End Times:

The hadith also includes a discussion about the signs of the Day of Judgment, reminding Muslims of the temporality of this world and the importance of preparing for the Hereafter through righteous actions.

6) Manners in Seeking Knowledge:

Hadith Jibril also teaches the importance of proper manners when seeking knowledge. When Jibril (AS) approached the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), he sat respectfully, placed his knees close to the Prophet’s, and asked questions in a structured manner. This highlights key etiquettes in acquiring knowledge:

 - Respect for teachers: Sitting attentively, listening carefully, and speaking respectfully.

 - Asking questions with sincerity:Jibril (AS) asked questions not because he did not know the answers but to educate others. This shows the importance of seeking knowledge for the benefit of oneself and the community.

 - Applying knowledge in daily life: True knowledge is not just about accumulating information but implementing it with sincerity and wisdom.

By adopting these manners, students and seekers of knowledge can ensure they gain wisdom in a way that is beneficial, disciplined, and respectful.

Pillars of Islam

The Six Pillars of Iman (Faith) are the core beliefs that every Muslim must hold in their heart. These beliefs shape a Muslim’s understanding of life, their purpose, and their relationship with Allah. The six pillars are:

1. Belief in Allah – Having firm faith in the oneness of Allah, His existence, and His absolute power over everything. He has no partners, no equals, and nothing is worthy

of worship except Him.

2. Belief in Angels – Believing that angels are created by Allah from light and have specific duties, such as Jibril (Gabriel) delivering revelations and Israfil blowing the trumpet on the Day of Judgment.

3. Belief in Divine Books – Having faith in the holy scriptures revealed by Allah, including the Quran, the Torah (Tawrat) given to Moses, the Psalms (Zabur) given to David, and the Gospel (Injil) given to Jesus. However, the Quran is the final and

unaltered revelation.

4. Belief in Prophets – Believing that Allah sent prophets to guide humanity, starting from Adam (AS) and ending with Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the final messenger.

5. Belief in the Day of Judgment – Having faith that the world will end one day, and everyone will be resurrected to be judged by Allah for their deeds. The righteous will enter Jannah (Paradise), while those who rejected faith will face Jahannam (Hell).

6. Belief in Qadr (Divine Decree) – Understanding that everything happens according to Allah’s will and knowledge, whether good or bad. However, humans still have free will and are responsible for their actions.

The session became even more exciting when we were divided into five groups, with each group assigned to explain one of the Pillars of Iman. It was a fun and interactive way to learn because we had to discuss, share ideas, and present in our own creative way. The last pillar, Qadr (Divine Decree), was explained by our facilitator, giving us deeper insights into its meaning. Overall, it was a great learning experience, filled with teamwork and engaging discussions!

Usrah Session Summary : Belief in Rusul and Anbiyā’ (the Messengers and the Prophets),Belief in Qiyāmah (the Resurrection Day)& Belief in Qadā’ & Qadr

1) Belief in Rasul (Messengers) and Anbiyah (Prophets) is key in Islam:

1. Anbiyah: Prophets chosen by Allah to guide people, such as Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus. Many prophets were sent throughout history.

2. Rasul: Messengers who brought new laws and scriptures, like Moses with the Torah, Jesus with the Gospel, and Muhammad (PBUH) with the Quran. Every Rasul is a prophet, but not all prophets are messengers. Muhammad (PBUH) is the final messenger. This belief highlights Allah's continuous guidance to humanity.

2) Belief in Qiyamah (the Day of Judgment)

is a fundamental part of Islamic faith. It refers to the belief that, at the end of time, all people will be resurrected and judged by Allah based on their deeds in this life.

On this day, everyone will be held accountable, and their actions will determine whether they enter Paradise (Jannah) or Hell (Jahannam). It is a day when justice will be served, and every soul will receive what they deserve. This belief encourages Muslims to live righteously and be mindful of their actions.

3)Belief in Qadā’ & Qadr

Qada : refers to Allah's overall plan and decree, encompassing everything that happens in creation.

Qadar : refers to Allah’s precise measurement and implementation of that plan, meaning that everything happens according to His will and wisdom.

This belief teaches that while humans have free will to make choices, everything ultimately occurs within Allah’s divine plan. It encourages trust in Allah’s wisdom, especially during hardship or uncertainty.

Usrah Session Summary: Adab Towards Parents

In this week's Usrah session, we focused on the adab (manners) towards our parents and how Islam emphasizes respect, kindness, and obedience to them. Some key points discussed were:

Speaking with kindness – We should always be mindful of our tone and words when talking to our parents, never raising our voices or speaking harshly. Islam teaches us to be gentle and respectful in our conversations.

Responding to their calls – When our parents call us for help, we should respond immediately and not delay, as this is a way to show love and gratitude for all they have done for us.

Caring for them in their old age – Just as they took care of us when we were young and helpless, it is our responsibility to take care of them when they grow old, ensuring they feel loved, valued, and comfortable.

Making du'a for them – Even if our parents are no longer with us, we should continue praying for their well-being and asking Allah to grant them mercy and Jannah.

Showing gratitude through actions – Beyond words, we should express our love by helping them with daily tasks, spending time with them, and making them feel appreciated.

This session was a meaningful reminder that our parents are one of the greatest blessings in our lives, and serving them with love is not just a duty but a path to earning Allah’s pleasure.

In this week Usrah session, we talked about adab (manners) towards ghaib (unseen things) in Islam. Belief in the unseen is very important, and Islam teaches us how to respect it in the right way.

First, we must believe in the unseen with full trust. As Muslims, we believe in Allah, angels, Jannah and Jahannam, the Day of Judgment, and Qadr (Allahs plan). A true believer accepts these things even if we cannot see them.

We should not try to guess or claim knowledge about the unseen. Only Allah knows everything. Islam does not allow us to follow fortune tellers, horoscopes, or superstitions because they can lead us away from the truth.

We must also respect unseen creations like angels and jinn. Angels have important roles, like Jibril bringing revelation. Jinn also exist, but we should not try to communicate with them. If we want protection from bad jinn, we should read Quran, make dua,and trust Allah.

Trusting in Qadr (Allah's plan) means accepting that everything happens for a reason. Whether something is good or bad, we should be patient and believe that Allah's plan is always the best for us.

To make our faith stronger, we should increase taqwa (awareness of Allah), make dua and learn more from the Quran and hadith. This session reminded us that believing in the unseen is part of Islam, and having the right manners towards it helps us stay on the right path.

This week’s topic helped us reflect on the moral lessons behind giving Zakāh and Ṣadaqah. Tawakkul (reliance on Allah) is strengthened as we learn to detach from materialism and trust in Allah’s sustenance.

At the same time, these acts build ukhuwwah (brotherhood) by reducing inequality and supporting the well-being of the ummah. Charity, therefore, is not just financial—it is a social and spiritual duty that purifies both the giver and society.

Our final week explored the values embedded in the spiritual journey of Ḥajj and ‘Umrah. These acts cultivate taḍḥiyyah (sacrifice), as pilgrims endure physical and emotional hardship for the sake of Allah.

More importantly, they nurture taqwā (God-consciousness), as the rituals constantly remind the believer of their purpose and connection with Allah. The shared experience of millions of Muslims in one place also strengthens the sense of unity and humility within the ummah.
