King Hamlet has died, and the whole kingdom is miserable. Hamlet finds out that Claudius, his uncle or his mother's new husband, has poisoned his father by pouring it in his ear. He immediately wants to find out for certain if it was him, so he puts on a play that re-acts the death of his father. He finds that Claudius is guilty, but holds off on killing him, but Hamlet mistakes Polonius for Claudius, killing him. Because of her father's death, Ophelia goes mad and kills herself. Then, Laertes & Claudius devise a plan to kill Hamlet in a fencing match by a poisoned sword or a poisoned goblet. During the match, Gertrude drinks the poisoned goblet, and dies. Then, Hamlet and Laertes' sword gets switched, though Hamlet was already stabbed, he stabs Laertes with the poisoned sword. Before Hamlet dies, he makes Claudius drink the poisoned goblet, and he dies. Hamlet wishes the Fortinbras will be the new king before he dies.
