Problem:  9th graders have had higher rates of plagiarism than in previous years.
Solution: Start modeling and using Noodletools in younger grades to work on citations, summary, paraphrasing, and commentary as well as critically looking at sources.
Objectives:  1) Create new tutorials (multimodal - video and written): Youtube Channel, within LMS and on LibGuide  2) Train 7th Grade Faculty and 3) model with students throughout a project
Outcomes so far: 1) increased page views of tutorials 2) training of staff 3) modeled project with students on descriptive feedback and 4) 3% rate of similarity per Turnitin data.

Focus: Aligning Lego Curriculum to 5th Grade Curriculum

Goal: Create a resource that will allow teachers to easily identify how to use lego projects in a way that aligns to 5th grade curriculum, thereby increasing teacher buy-in for new Lego kits and likelihood that teachers will use the Lego kits in their teaching and learning. 

Why?-  Our district is very behind in terms of computational thinking, coding, and robotics compared to other districts. With Lego Kits, district leaders hope to lay a foundation in this computational skill set for students. However, so many teachers are overwhelmed by all the tools they must use, along with all their other responsibilities. The goal behind this project is to do the work beforehand to make it as easy as possible for teachers to incorporate Lego and computational thinking into our already jam-packed curriculum. 

Outcomes I hoped to Achieve: Create a useful tool, get feedback from teachers, make changes, lead a PD for teachers at the district level and get feedback.

Level: Middle School Students/Teachers
Focus: Increase Student’s Knowledge/Engagement With the Use of Assistive Technology 

Goal: Increase 8th grade student assignment completion with the use of assistive technology)( by at least 25% )(by Spring Semester of the 2022-2023 School year

Justification: These steps are being taken so that students’ can have more accessibility to their learning. Many times when students go to do work independently they may often feel discouraged before they start. Assistive technology can help students become more accountable for their own learning, increasing their confidence and cause a higher level of assignment completion. 

Outcome: Data measurement will occur during the 2022-2023 school year with the goal that student engagement will be increased through regular usage of the on demand asynchronous step by steps on how to use available assistive technology tools.

Focus: Understanding How ITFs and Librarians Can Plug In to the EL Curriculum Used

Issue: Teachers are overwhelmed by the EL Education curriculum being used in language arts classes and don't know how we (myself and the ITF) can be of value to them. They don't want to collaborate and think there is no time to do so.

Goal: Create a spreadsheet for librarians to use to find ways to collaborate with their teachers. Create a "menu" for my teachers to use with ideas of how I can collaborate with them for each module
