I think that the reasons for companies don't pay livable wages to their employees has many sides. For the poor campanies, for sure, we can't expect a company which can't even maintain itself to provide high wages to the employees. But for the rich companies, like Disney in the video, probably because the CEO, all the leaders just want more money and more profit, when they can't get enough profit, they take it from their employees' wages. I think the cost is high because many people move to big cities, so when the demand for those resources is high, prices will rise. There are plenty of job opportunities in the city than there are in the village or the countryside, but maybe people will get paid low. That’s because they are not THAT skilled. Education is better and more expensive in cities, because they have better teachers.

The city would get broke. Shops will close down, shop owners would start to find people. High-wage people mostly works at a big company and obviously they wouldn't work as normal workers in disneyland or normal bookshops/convenient stores. Low-wage workers are actually more helpfull then you think. If they would all go out disney will get broke, they would unfortunately close down. This is because there are many low-wage workers in a country and low-wages workers always do their job on another level. They would do their job right and persistent.
