         <description><![CDATA[<div>1) Metaphor: This song is full of metaphors. I assume that the singer uses them to make the lyrics more vivid as in " Do you ever feel already buried deep, Six feet under screams but no one seems to hear a thing".: This metaphor creates an image of someone being stuck or not being able to change one´s life for the better . The usage of the metaphor makes these lines way more memorable and also expresses how hard it must be to expperience such emotions.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The song is written in lyric mode.<br><br>1) Metaphor: The metaphor for the human mind and body as a broken  machine apllies to all the lyrics:<br><br><em>I'm just a broken machine<br>Though the record may spin<br>All my lights have gone dim</em> <br><br><em>And nothing bothers me now<br>My wheels are my wheels</em><br><br>(I believe wheels could refer to flaws or traits, which he accepted as part of him)<br><br>2) Repetition: There are a lot of repetitions that emphasize the metaphor of the "broken machine" through their syntax: <br><br><em>Some things have started to fail<br>Some things have<br>Some<br><br>3</em>) Conflict:<br>In Verse 1 he says that he is broken and therefor can't do anything, but in Verse 3 he says that he can do anything even tho he is broken (which is a contradiction in itself): <br><br><em>I'm just a broken machine<br>I can't do anything</em><br><br><em>Hey, I'm a broken machine<br>I can do anything</em><br><br>also he says he starts to dream but also refers to himself as a mechanical thing (that technically can't dream):<br><br><em>Now I start to dream<br>I'm a mechanical thing <br></em><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>-“I don’t know much, but I do know this: Heaven is full of music, and God listens to my heartbeat on his iPod. It reminds him that we still got work to do.“<br><br>Here he again creates a clear picture in our heads (god listening to an iPod). Yet again he personifies (is that even a word?) god (something abstract that we can't see) and brings "him" closer to us by giving him an every-day item that many of us use. He also clearly conveys his picture of god to us namely: a man. He could have also said "her" like some other writers do. Yet again, I believe, that the majority of people think of god as a man because that's how we were raised.</div>]]></description>
