WHO WILL I INTERVIEW?

For the Profile Project we will all be working hard on this semester, I have chosen my sister, Taylor Wozniacki, to be my luck participant. My sister has always been somebody I have admired, loved, and respected so very deeply. She has qualities that people respect, she has life experience we can all learn from, and a passion to bring out the best in every single person she reaches. I am excited to dig deeper into how my sister became the admirable person she is, and to share with Dr. Cox and my fellow classmates the mountaintops she has overcome.

WHEN/WHERE WILL WE INTERVIEW?

My sister recently moved to Greenville, South Carolina to follow her dreams, so the interview will be tricky, but we will make it happen. Unfortunately, in person will most likely not be a possibility, but FaceTime will be our friend for sure. While we both have very busy lives, I will provide a few different times and see what will work best. Any afternoon after 5:00, Saturday morning, or sometime Sunday afternoon will all work. I will make sure she has at least thirty minutes to be fully invested in the conversation. It will be best if we are both in a coffee shop, or a quiet space with no distractions.

HOW WILL I RECORD INFORMATION?

As we go through the questions, and are engaging in conversation, I will be on my laptop taking notes of every detail. Writing down exact quotes that I find powerful, but keeping a good balance between staying engaged and taking notes. This balance will come by keeping my notes organized, and differentiating between important and less significant information. More than just what is being said, tone of voice, emotions, and body language are all important to be aware of as well. I find in writing, readers are more engaged when they can make a visual image in their minds and what the conversation looked liked.

The next aspect is where some of my questions for the project come into play. For the images and multimodal elements associated with the interview, what exactly does this mean? I would love feedback for this part!

Now for the most important part- questions! I have a list of questions listed below for what I will be asking my sister; however, I want to consider this list a rough draft. I do not want to feel as if I have to ask these questions like a script. If the conversation starts to go in a different direction that I feel could be beneficial, I will adjust my questions and let the conversation take the lead! This approach to the questions will keep the interview genuine and very natural.

Hey Sister,

For my English class we are working on a semester project trying to figure out who a specific person of our choosing really is. This project is being supervised by Dr. Cox through Kennesaw State University. If you are up for it, you are the chosen one! Since we live hundreds of miles away from each other, our interview will be conducted over FaceTime.

I will not record of FaceTime, but I will take detailed notes of our conversation. Once the interview is over, I will be taking what was said, and turning it into a wonderful essay reflecting our dialogue, details, and the time we spend talking together. While I am so excited for you to read it, it will be read by others as well. With your consent, my Professor and fellow classmates will also be reading about our time together.

If this is something you are willing to participate in, and can provide consent that it is acceptable for others to read about the conversation we have, I would love to set up a time for us to do this! Sign and date below your decision.

If at any point before or after the interview you change your mind about others reading my paper, do not hesitate to reach out to me. Your wishes are my command! You have my number, address, and might as well have my Social Security :-) , so contact me in whatever way works best for you.

Thank you for your time,

Julia Wozniacki

I provide consent to be apart of this project and understand all that goes into it.

_________________ (Signature) __________________ (Date)

I do not want to participate in this project.

_________________ (Signature) __________________ (Date)
