With medium-past podcasting only beginning to hit the mainstream in early/mid 2005, podcasting can still be considered to be in its infancy (there is more to come from it). Over a decade ago, iTunes was released with the ability for people or users to listen to podcasts. In a few short years after that, download requests have potentially skyrocketed into billions. As podcasts usually have a range of any genre up until today, many people would find this as a form of coming up to- date with what is happening to their communities or social events. Podcasts have initially came to innovate the audio management through recalibrating the equitable or improved way of announcing or notifying many registered listeners. The innovation of podcasts became an infinite source of understanding what happens daily or constantly.

Pop filters are commonly used in podcasting to elimitate any popping noises made by speaking into a microphone. The higher quality the microphone, the more essensial a pop filter is. Due to the high quality, they microphones pick up more sound. This causes the popping sounds from wind for saying the letter P to increase tenfold. Pop filters make this noise miniscule, so the audience dosent need hearning aids when they get older.

Every podcast differs in terms of it's contents since there is a variety of genres and topics to choose from, each genre has a different method of presentation. An example would be how podcasts about politics tend to be more serious and bias when compared to a podcast with the genre of a person's daily life which would be exaggerated and somewhat comedic.

The following genres are some of the most popular ones for a podcast:
- Recent events: These podcasts tend to be like the news but without as much visuals, as well as serious.

- Politics: serious conversations with strong opinions.

- Comedy: Laughter and jokes can be heard throughout the entire podcast and they are usually to brighten up someones mood.

- Discoveries: Exaggerated and interesting always keeping the viewers on the edge of their seat.

- Inventions: Intriguing and always teaching the listener new bits of information that isn't heard regularly.

- Daily lives: Adventurous, it sums up someones day whilst also incorporating other genres such as comedy to make the podcast livelier and more fun to listen to.

Podcasting came to fruition in 2000 as a result of a meeting between Dave Wine and Adam Curry, the godfathers of the podcasting industry, where they discussed the automated media distribution. Dave Winer was the software developer and an RSS evangelist. Dave deduced that the time spent for downloading content would be much longer than viewing time as the quality of downloaded videos was poor. Due to this, he wanted to create a software that would be able to download only the items from one's subscription list. During this time, Dave was already creating a RSS (Real Simple Syndication Feed) to help share stories through the internet. The first podcast ever made was in 2004, however, it started way before that.Starting in the 1980s, there were such thing as audio blogging, which wasn't as successful, as internet speeds were not the best at this time. However, in 2004, a man named Adam Curry wrote a program called "iPodder". The program was developed by Dave Winer. It allowed automatic download of radio audio from the internet to his iPod. This is what has given the name, "podcasts". Several developers started working the "ipodder" which allowed the creation of Podcasts.
