This took place in new York. They wanted to take over the Hudson river, They were low on supplies after marching in the woods. It was commanded&nbsp; by gates, George Washington was trying to stop British from taking over the city. Daniel Morgan tried to hold the attack the war lasted for 7 hours. The army was already tired&nbsp; from marching before hand.<br><br>What was significant about it was that&nbsp; The American&nbsp;<br>defeated the British army and wanted independence.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Second Continental Congress was a meeting of representatives of the thirteen colonies to prepare for war. During this meeting, the continental army was established, with George Washington as Commander in Chief. A petition called the olive branch petition was sent to king George III by the colony delegates but was ignored by the king with an American revolt as the consequence.<br><br>What I would consider one of the most important events that happened during this time was the Declaration of Independence. Jefferson's draft was finished and approved by congress but the actual document wasn't signed in independence hall until August 2, 1776.</div>]]></description>
