I would have been on the side of the Patriots, as Britain was taking American's natural rights. In this cartoon, the idea of the states all making up a snake stands out. The main symbol is how the snake is divided into parts, that all join to make one snake. This represents how the states are separated, but are all a part of the United States. This is also the message of the cartoon- that all of the states must unite against Britain.
