This whole conflict ended up being being an active stalemate. In 2018, the United States approved the sale of anti-tank weapons to Ukraine. In September, Ukraine recaptured of lot of the northeastern Kharkiv region, including the city of Izium. This city was an important logistics hub for the Russians. 
In October, a bridge connecting Crimea to Russia was damaged heavily by blasting. Russia blamed Ukraine for this attack, even though they said that it was not them. With the war happening, and certain areas being damaged, this power isn't coming as plentifully as it was before. Even in the United States we are a bit affected.
