We all live in this one world and we have to preserve it. That is our task. In doing so, however, we must not think too big. It is impossible to help and support everyone in this world everywhere. But it is important to look behind the borders and to feel responsible for what happens there and to look specifically for something where you can help directly. The responsibility does not end at your at your own house. We are only guests everywhere and we have to treat our world that way. We have to pass on this to our students so that they start feeling responsible for this world, but also awaken the feeling in them that they can even achieve something with little things. And the best way to do this is through international projects. Don't accuse and criticize, but help.

To learn, to care and to act - I learned it from my teacher.

Do I do this in my life, not always, or can I try and do it differently, yes. I am a small bolt in the mechanism of the global world, but even one bolt has the power to change the world by changing itself. If someone has treated you badly, it doesn’t mean answering at the same way, you have to show the way to be better and respond with a smile and thanks for the lesson given.

One of our most important missions as teachers, is to make students aware of the world around us. I want to create a will to discover and meet our beautiful planet. Too many students sit all day in front of screens, without understanding what they miss. They need a lot of pushing and encouragement to leave their comfort zone. Sometimes I hear students say: Why care about others? I am happy where I am. This makes me sad. You must be curious about people around you, look forward to new experiences. Sometimes you have to persuade students to participate in exchanges. They are always so happy afterwards. Sometimes I have been travelling with students with mental issues. The exchanges have been like a cure to them. It is about taking the first step, opening their eyes, offering
them new perspectives. An international project can be this first step to something bigger… And in this new globalised workshop we all depend on each other, whether we like it or not. We need each other to create the world we want!

Globalization is perceived as an advantageous development by some, while threat by others. Although we are striving to become global citizens, acquire greater understanding and knowledge of other cultures, become more tolerant and accepting, we must realize that it is easy to lose our identities in this multicultural world. Therefore, we as teachers have to assist our students in realizing the importance of one's uniqueness at the same time remaining loyal to one's culture, traditions, roots. At the same time, it is important to remind students that being a global citizen also means being a guest in every country, thus respecting its culture, people, environment is crucial.
