Rather than sending food and aid and helping to build the country back up, Trump moved on from it, and the death toll rose from 64 to 2,975 people in a year as a result of lack of resources. Ignoring what was happening in Puerto Rico resulted in the death toll to rise, and still America didn't help. Americans take pride in knowing they got a good education and they compete to be the "smartest". Once you have completed high school, Americans are expected to go to college. This is where American's compete because certain schools only except certain amounts of people. They take the people who are hard workers, and are smart and educated students. In recent years the amount of students going to college after high school is neither increasing or decreasing. In late 2014, the percent of students that went to college was 65.4%. That was the lowest amount of people that have moved on to college in a decade. In more recent years (2016-2017), the amount of students going to college after high school has increased to 69.7%. The amount of students fluctuate every year but it is still considered a value in American society.
