When thinking about my progression over the course of the semester, this was the starting point of my Italian competency. The mistakes that were made here relate to the second journal reflection because some of the points that I got taken off on were lack of vocabulary. While journals 1 and 2 had significant grammar mistakes the only mistakes that were in my 3rd journal were minor possessive and article agreement errors. This progression was because of the preparation I put into the topic of this journal with both grammar and vocabulary. The few mistakes that were made were minor grammar errors, but my sentence structure was intact. The journal demonstrates an increase in my ability to communicate in multiple tenses and a progression in accuracy and vocabulary from Journal 2. Seth, too, saw an improvement in his journals indicating that more practice and repetition allowed us both to solidify our understanding of all aspects of Italian grammar. Journal 2 includes the successful uses of future, conditional and present tenses along with a lot of new vocabulary.
