Family and strained relationships are going to happen after your mental and emotional health have been impacted. People like your family and friends want to know what is going on with you, but people with these problems don't want to feel like the center of attention and they don't want people to know that anything is wrong.

How does this affect society or individuals?And/or Why this norm should or should not be enforced?

This effects individuals and society because without having that positive relationship with your family and friends this can effect you negatively because you feel like you don't want anyone to not that you are suffering and you also don't want to talk to anyone about this problem. This norm should not be enforced because we all need that strong relationship with family and friends to have a good mind. Having those people that you can talk to about problems and you don't feel judged is a very important factor for you to be healthy for you.

This can finally delay yourself from making the decision to seek help. People that have these serious problems have the feelings of embarrassment and lack of confidence to actually reach out to someone for help. They almost feel as if their feelings are useless and no one cares to listen about their feelings. What they truly don't know is that it can benefit them so much because getting all of this off your chest and out of mind can help start the healing process.

How does this affect society or individuals? And/or Why should this norm should or should not be enforced?

This affects society and individuals because maybe people are scared to reach out because of the feeling of embarrassment of their feelings. This norm should not be enforced because it has so many downsides to it and can harm so many people in negative ways.
