They are similar because both can understand human emotion ''Dig Deeper'' states ''Baxter is being used to check out groceries. This proves they have similarities because they both can show and understand human emoyion.

They are different because they have different jobs.

Saya and Baxter are similar to humans. In the article The Robot Teacher it says" Unlike some other robots, Saya can show six emotions. She can show surprise and fear. She can look happy or sad." This shows that, Saya can show emotions like humans. In the article The Robot Teacher it says"They call him Baxter. Baxter checks out groceries. He can respond to human feedback. He will change his actions to match what is needed." This proves that, Baxter can do things that humans can do. To sum it up, Saya and Baxter are similar to humans.

Saya and Baxter are diffrent from humans. In the article The Robot Teather it says"Will Saya ever take the place of a real teacher? Experts say no. Robots can show emotion, but robots don't actually feel emotion. Therefore, they don't understand people. They are just tools intended to help people." This explains that Saya can't feel emotion so she dosen't understand people. In the article The Robot Teacher it says"For example, say Baxter handles a carton of eggs too roughly. The eggs will break. A person can show Baxter how to make a more gentle movement. Baxter's programming will change. Baxter will handle the next carton more carefully." This shows that Baxter needs help from people to do his job. All in all, Saya and Baxter are diffrent from humans.

As you can see Saya and Baxter are simailar and diffrent from humans.

Saya and Baxter have many similarities and differences from humans. An example that shows how they are similar is "Saya seems human, because she is designed to be as lifelike as possible. The robot teacher can be made to say any of 700 phrases in response to whatever is being said to her. Unlike more mechanical-looking robots, like Honda Motor Company's Asimo, Saya can express six basic emotions. Motors and wiring around her eyes and mouth allow her to convey feelings of surprise, fear, disgust, anger, happiness, and sadness." This shows that the robots are similar to humans. An example that shows that they are different is ".....a robot can convey information to a student but can't go beyond that. Robots can be programmed to express emotion, but since they don't actually feel emotion, they don't understand people." This shows that robots have differences from humans. To sum it up, robots have many similarities and differences from humans.

Saya and Baxter have both similarities to and differences from humans. Both of these robots are similar to humans because both are performing tasks that humans are already doing. Saya, a teaching robot, is similar to a human teacher. According to the text, she is abe to give directions to students, respond to students with over 700 phrases, and express 6 emotions facially. Baxter, a grocery checkout robot, is similar to humans because "he" is able to change his actions based upon human feedback. "...if Baxter handles a carton of eggs too roughly, the eggs will break. However, a person can show Baxter how to make a more gentle movement. This causes Baxter's programming to change". This proves that both Saya and Baxter performing tasks in a similar manner to the way a human would.

In contrast, Saya and Baxter are also extremely diffrerent from humans. Their primary difference from humans is that niether robot is able to feel an emotion or learn something without being programmed to do so. As stated in the text, "The robot has no intelligence. It has no ability to learn. It has no identity...It is just a tool." This proves that robots are different from humans at a very basic but important level. As you can see, Saya and Baxter have simalarites to and differences from humans.

All and all, this shows that robots have no feelings or emotion.

The two robots are very different because saya teaches in school and Baxster checks out groceries. A quote from the article says: "For example, say Baxter handles a carton of eggs too roughly. The eggs will break. A person can show Baxter how to make a more gentle movement. Plus, Baxter would change his programming since he did that. They can be different from humans. A quote from the article says: " Still, Saya can't see or hear." This quote proves that if Says can't hear, then the kids can probably do what they want. Sometimes, she just randomly screams out: "Be quiet!"

Saya is a robot teacher that is being tested in Japan. She is designed to look like a real person. She can express six different emotions, many facial expressions, and over 700 words and phrases. Baxter is being tested in a supermarket and is programmed to learn from what the other costumers teach him. The robot has no intelligence. According to the text, "It has no identity." Kobayashi explained. "It is just a tool." This quote proves that the robots have no mind, it is just programmed, which means they can not feel what we feel, and all the other senses because they are not people. They are not living. Another quote from the article is "It would be [a mistake] to think that such robots could replace a human teacher," Sharkey said. "[Many adults remember] that one teacher who inspired them. A robot cannot be that kind of inspirational role model." This proves that these robots cannot be like the "inspiring" teacher because they aren't real teachers, they are just robots. To sum things up,

Saya and Baxter are similar to humans because they share some of the very same attributes. According to the text, "In one demonstration, Saya displayed her ability to show emotion. Her mouth popped open, her eyes widened, and her eyebrows arched to appear surprised. Her lips pulled back to make a smile. To express pleasure, she said simple preprogrammed phrases such as "Thank you," while her lips moved." This quote proves that Saya could be like humans because of her cabability to show emotions. According to the dig deeper text, "For example, if Baxter handles a carton of eggs too roughly, the eggs will break. However, a person can show Baxter how to make a more gentle movement. This causes Baxter's programming to change. Then the next time a carton of eggs comes through, Baxter will handle it more carefully." This quote proves that Baxter has the ability to learn, just like humans. To sum it all up, Saya and Baxter are similar to humans because they share some of the very same attributes.

Saya is a robot that teaches children and Baxter performs errands around the house. They Saya and Baxter have both similarities to and differences from humans. Both of these are similar because they are doing things that humans have done and usually do every day. Saya, a teaching robot, just like a teacher teaches every day but it might make the children feel uncomfortable. So, they are also different in ways.

I read that Saya can do six emotions and able to speak 700 phrases and words. She taught 5th and 6th graders. They made Saya because they thought that when the elders retired the robots would fill in.

Baxter, a grocery checkout robot, is similar to humans because he is able to change his reactions however only after a humans feedback.. "...if Baxter handles a carton of eggs too roughly, the eggs will break. However, a person can show Baxter how to make a more gentle movement. This causes Baxter's programming to change". This quote proves that Baxter can be programmed to learn by humans like how human learns from their mistakes.
