Our school is a special vocational training school, dedicated to supporting and empowering students with disabilities. Our goal is to prepare students for an autonomous and creative life, through an adapted and supportive learning environment.

It is aimed at students with diagnosed as having serious special educational needs, which are the result of:

a) a specific disability (mental retardation, mental immaturity, particularly serious vision and hearing problems, autism, etc.),

b) multiple disabilities (mental retardation together with serious vision and hearing problems, mental retardation together with autism),

c) complex cognitive, emotional and social difficulties.

The duration of the course is from five to eight years, according to the special educational needs of each student.

It was founded in October 2003. In addition to the basic subjects (Language, Mathematics, Gymnastics, Music, Social and Vocational Education, Art) there are also three workshops: Agriculture, Tourism and Handicraft. Today, 25 students are enrolled, divided into 8 classes.

Zespół Szkół Specjalnych imienia Janusza Korczaka w Gliwicach is in Silesia, close to the airport in Katowice. Our school provides general and vocational education for children and young people with various disabilities (autism, hearing impairments, visual impairments, physical disability, intellectual disability, mental illnesses, risk of social maladjustment). We educate nearly 200 students, aged 13 to 24. It is a special school educating students from grade 7 of Primary School, through the First-Level Vocational School, the Vocational Preparation School, up to the General Secondary School. Our institution has experience in implementing numerous educational programs and projects. We also provide preparation for the professional qualifications exam. Our school educates young people in various professions, including: bookbinder, saler, hotel service staff, car mechanic, electromechanic, pastry chef, baker, and cook.
