The team drive has been shared. I have loaded information about the MUSIC Prefect and Council job descriptions. Music are setting up a council. This is an excellent resource if you are looking to build leadership capacity within your areas.

HODs/Teachers in charge of councils within the ARTS can submit names to profile. We will work on the criteria. We can correlate the information and make this available to media prefect/council. Otherwise we can post information. Joy and myself are the admins for the ARTS Facebook and are hesitant to change this at this stage.

Develop a scholarship programmes within the Faculty of Arts
Provide courses

We can have conversations across areas about how we are implementing our scholarship programs.
Connect with local subject specific communities. Teachers with Level 3 courses need to build thier capacity to deliver this within subject areas.

Multicultural prayers or greetings in assembly - i.e. we currently start with a Karakia, could not a prayer from different cultures be used, or a short reading from a different culture.

Setting up subcommittee's lead by prefect assistants/prefect councillors with their own portfolios. Having job description for all leadership roles will clarify how the councils function under the student leader. Councils with year level resentation will ensure there is ongoing training and input. All job descriptions to be loaded into the team drive under the student council (see music)
Please remember we want student voice for bulletins & newsletters. Can you get the leaders used to writing short paragraphs about their perspective of events.

Just a reminder, any promo with the school logo needs to go through Shawnee and by default Joy/myself. However, for small in council initiatives the Visual Arts council can design these. A reasonable timeframe is required. Requests should always go through Jenniffer in the first instance.

The screen in the library is a perfect way to communicate the Arts programme. It is a pity that many of the photos are outdated. Could we look at a way the Arts Council could have some input into adding information in a timely manner? Also, what happened to the screen that was in Anderson? That was another good way of communicating with the wider school community

Mentoring the various Arts Councils

On-going mentoring to grow leaders who are able to stand on their own and lead - after a term of training and working closely with the girls, even spoon-feeding them to get the ball rolling, we would step to the side and truly become mentors

Yes, this is the ideal. Music have provided a job description for their leaders. Within each area job descriptions for students leaders should be outlined and placed in the team drive under Student Council. You can make your own folder.

Music had 34 Level 1 students and 34 Year 10 students. We had to choose which class would be split. We need another music teacher so our area can grow. Similar situations in Drama, Dance and Visual Art.
