Have them describe their feelings.          <title>BUILDING VOCABULARY</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><strong>WORD LINKS</strong>.  Send the student a word on Skype messenger. Have your student write a word that relates to that word. Then you write a new word. Ex:  weather &gt; rain &gt; umbrella ...</li><li>"<strong>5 THINGS GAME":</strong> Name 5 things that: move, talk, don’t talk, walk on 4 feet, sing, cry; name 5 cities, countries, authors, 5 things you would do if you weren't having this lesson!, etc.</li><li><strong><mark>IF WE WERE GOING TO</mark></strong> … what words would we need?  (Examples: going to the market, to school, to a library, shopping, etc.</li><li><strong><mark>CLOSE WORDS</mark></strong><mark>:</mark> Put 2 words on your screen (or send by Skype messenger). Have students say what is different about them. Examples: cafe/restaurant, clock/watch, etc.</li><li><strong>MY DICTIONARY</strong>.  Using a free program like Padlet (this program) make a bulletin board of all the new words your student learns!</li><li><strong>YOU CHOOSE! </strong> Put a list of all new vocabulary words at the top of a page.  Write sentences leaving a blank in each sentence. The student must choose the correct word for each blank from the list at the top of the page.</li></ol>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><strong>BLEEN!</strong>  (Russian equivalent of "bother!")  Name a category (i.e. things that are round; animals, weather, clothing). Taking turns, you say something in the category. When someone finally can't think of something, they say, "Bleen!" and the game is over.</li><li><strong>DEFINITIONS.</strong>  Give your student a word and a choice of 3 definitions (make one of them funny). The student chooses what definition is correct.</li><li><strong>"26".</strong>  Name a letter.  How many words can your student write that begin with that letter?</li><li><strong>GUESS THE WORD</strong>. Think of a word. Ask questions until your student guesses the word you're thinking of.</li><li><strong>FAIRY SAILS</strong>.  Start a made-up story by sending your student 2 or 3 sentences by Skype messenger. The student adds 2 or 3 sentences and sends it back to you.  You correct any mistakes and write 2 or 3 more sentences.  Keep going back and forth until you think the story is finished.</li></ol>]]></description>
