How is value used in this artwork?
The value that is being used in this artwork use the light and dark value to emphasis the picture in some area. As we can see in this artwork the artist use dark value on the old man and the kid to make it standout to the audience. We can see that the background behind the 2 people use light value to make us ignore what's behind and focus on the dark value such as the people. When the audience look at this work their eye will focus on the people first because the dark value make it standout.

How does value create mood or emotion in the artwork?

This artwork consist of mainly 3 colors such as brown, black, and white. These 3 colors are a very calm and peaceful color which help create a calm mood.

Value is used to show the lighting and shading of the artwork. The parts that are shadowed are made a lot darker than the parts with light hitting them.
This emphasises the center of the artwork since there are both dark shadows and light very close together, making it look more detailed.
The contrasting light and dark make the piece look a little somber and serious, especially because of how dark the shadows are.

How is the value used in this artwork?

Value is used in this artwork because there are light shining at the old man and the young boy. This creates dark places near the buckets. Most of the painitng is shined by light and some proportions of the painting is dark.

How did the artist use value for emphasis?

In this painting, the artist shined the light to the old man and the young boy. I think it emphasize that the old man is teaching the young boy about the banjo and making the man dark would probably be like that he does not have much time to play the banjo because of his old age so that he is now teaching banjo to the young boy so that he could play the banjo in the future to teach other people about the music instruments. Also, the young boy has alot of time left in his life.

How does value create mood or emotion in the artwork?

This artist create mood by making some places darker. Majority of the paintings is bright and light. This can be that they enjoy playing banjo together which has the feeling of peaceful and loving. It also has this peaceful and calm tone to this artwork because of the light shining at them.

It may also create the value that the student has a brighter future than the teacher, because he is a lighter shade than the teacher.
