My junior year of high school is when I started to read more independently, and this book is hands down one of my favorites. I was so amazed by how beautiful the writing was in this novel, and it provided me a liking of romance.

He always provides me great suggestions, and he is an avid reader himself. He owned the book "The Song of Achilles" and kick started my love for reading. I started to read a lot more independently, and I started with easy reads such as "They Both Die at the End", but TSOA was the book that gave me the love for reading at my reading level. After TSOA, I read some more books but then I started "Circe" also by Madeline Miller. Thanks to my dad, he gave me an interest in Greek mythology. He himself is a big geek on Greek and Norse mythology and knows a lot on both topics. My dad is also a really fast reader and we love to talk to each other about the books we both finished reading.

My biggest challenge was reading beneath the surface more then usual and forming multiple theories with the meaning. This was one of the most complex books I've ever read. It was a lot to unpack, and I loved how much there was for interpretation. I enjoyed reading in between the lines of this book. This book was a shift in my reading journey because of how much my 10th grade class read inbetween the lines. Being in English Honors that year transformed my understanding and importance of each line in the book. I remember rambling to my Dad on and on about what we talked about in class that day and how much I loved being involved in class discussions. I picked up on so much more in reading because of this book and especially that class. Without this book, I would not be the in-depth reader I am today.

I don't realize it at the time, but I catch myself visualizing the scenes in my head similar to a movie. Another one of my favorite things is anticipating the next lines of an intense scene.
