1.Why did Rome control much of this area of the world? For how long did it do so? 
Rome controlled so much of the Mediterranean world because it was divided into two sections, the western and the eastern. Because so many people continually joined and they were very powerful, they controlled lots of trading routes and caused some wars. Roman empire started in 753 BC to 27 BC and then again from 64 AD to 1453 AD.

  2. What main languages were used?                           
The main languages that they spoke where Latin and Greek.The Apostles spoke Arabic in their daily lives and Hebrew in their religious lives. Jesus is cited specifically as speaking in Hebrew in Acts.

 3. What were some of the different ethnic/cultural groups living in the regions?
The different ethnic/cultural groups living in the Mediterranean region include Christians, Romans, Hebrews, and Greeks. The Mediterranean world had different major classes, for example, slaves, the free people, Roman citizens and different political people.

4. How were people and goods transported?
Transporting people and goods was a major part of Roman history. They had many ways to transport goods, but the main ways were to either walk or to take a boat across the water. Trading boats/merchant ships did not have to be fast or very maneuverable, they also built lighthouse's so that they had safer journeys when on the waters.

5. What were some main regions? What were some main cities?
In the Mediterranean world, they had many different religions, the main religions where, Christianity, Roman, Jewish, Hebrew and Islamic. Each had their own religious beliefs and traditions that they followed. The main cities in the Mediterranean World include: Rome, Tarsus, Antioch, Ephesus, Corinth (capital of the Roman province) and Damascus. These cities are mainly found in Paul's letters and on his Missionary Journeys

On his way to Damascus, a bright light flashed from heaven and Jesus spoke to Saul saying "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” which Saul replied 'who are you, Lord' the voice replied "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting, now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.” When he opened his eye he was blinded and couldn't see for three days. Saul was then baptized into Christianity to become Paul to preach.

In these letters/books, each has a different meaning behind it, depending on each city he traveled to. In his first letter to the Corinthians, mainly focus' on "God's beloved Rome" (1:7). Which leads to him talking about the beliefs and in-depth the religion of Christianity and about how Jesus and God would want the world to be, full of kindness and love to one another in all of his letters. Saint Paul also wrote what it takes and how you could be a follower of Jesus and the Christian religion, the rules of the gospel where also included when writing his letters

Keeping God’s commands is what counts." and that "circumcision is circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code." (Romans 2:28-29). Thus meaning that Paul did not believe that doing something the written code has said, it is by doing it from the heart and by spirit.

In these texts, a reoccurring message was being portrayed, is that we are all equal and in all religions, that the spirit and Christ are always there to offer help, guidance and all types of services, it is written "There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work."(Corinthians 12:4-7) which resembles that every religion has different beliefs, rituals, and ceremonies, but God has impacted that religion at some point. In these scriptures in explains, "One Spirit we were all baptized into one body" (12:12-14). This relates to individuals or groups today because people need to understand that we are all one and that we are all equal in religion and in the world.
