Culture is not necessarily based on religion, race, age, or sex. Culture is individual to each person. This is why we must not assume that a person wishes to be cared for in a certain way because of their culture, instead we should ask people how they want to be cared for. Working with the patient to create individualised and personalised care will enable us to be culturally sensitive.
