What did you notice about how infants or toddlers respond to the land during outdoor play?

Infants and toddlers enjoy being outdoors, they get excited to go outside and each of children do little play with the resources they bring or whatever there is for outdoor toys.

They use fine motor skills by using shovel to put snow in the bucket.

What I have noticed about infants or toddlers responding to the land is that, when they are learning to walk, they tend to walk wobbly even more on land because they arent really use to wearing outdoor clothing, using outdoor clothing makes them harder to walk especially in the snow as they have to wear snow suits and boots over their clothing. They want to walk independently if the infant/toddler can walk, some needs help to go through some parts as they are still adjusting to be able to be outside during winter as their outdoor play is shorter then during the summer as it is colder and needs warm clothing for them to be apart of outdoor play. I also have noticed that they like to try and eat snow when they see older ones eating snow not knowing its dirty.

What i notice about infants and toddlers to the land is that, infants would put things in mouth so we would have to keep them in the stroller or ammaq to let them watching and learn from the toddlers and the toddlers be walking learning how to balance on the land as the land is uneven. Every child love the out door. Toddlers would be curious about the land.

I have not seen infants go outdoors at my current practicum placement, but I have noticed how toddlers respond to the land during outdoor play. When toddlers are outside, they show curiosity by asking questions like “what is this” as they explore snow, rocks, and other natural materials. Educators take some toddlers for walks while preschoolers are playing on the playground. When toddlers are walking, they seem more engaged with the environment and enjoy having the freedom to explore different parts of their environment. I have noticed that when it’s time to return to the playground, toddlers don’t wanna go back and shows they want to continue walking. Some even get upset because they want to stay outside of playground, exploring different parts of their daily environment. This shows that land offers a sense of comfort and interest more than the structured environment which is the playground.
