         <description><![CDATA[<div>in the mid 1800's or the Revolutionary Era  many American people started to speak up against slavery. Americans started to stand up against slavery because of the torturouse ways that blacks got treated and how they where getting removed form white  neighborhoods. Blacks and whites were going up against slavery. William Loyd was a publisher and wrote in the newspaper about the problem with slavery.sisters Angelina and Sarah Grimicke gave lectures on slavery in the Northern United States. But most importantly, Fredrick Douglas and Sojourner Truth. They where both 2 of the best known black Abolitionist and they both were blacks who escaped slavery. the Abolitionist movement failed to gain popularity in the south. The Abolitionist movement also lead into the Women's rights movement.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The women's rights movement came about in 1840 because two women went to anti slavery convention in london and were not allowed to speak their thoughts on slavery. Women had very few rights on a political standpoint. Women could not vote, or also known as suffrage, and any money that women earned from their hard work belonged to their husbands. There was never a law against women being abused by their husbands. Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Stanton are sisters who held a national women's rights convention in New York. They held another convention getting equality for women who work, are in school, church, especially in the voting booth. slowly but surly the women's rights started to make progress. The right for women to vote became a reality in 1920. &nbsp;</div>]]></description>
