He's not a true military man and appears to be somewhere in the hierarchy of nobility as he has land that he will sell in order to "fill his purse" with money. (Which Iago eventually "bobs" for himself.") Roderigo is also very gullible and allows Iago to lead him on constantly. I believe this quote shows the true side of desdemona that we didn’t get to hear of often. This quote from othello shows in the end he was worried of how he’d be remembered with everything that happened, he asked they just speak the truth of him and joined desdemona in death.
